Corpus Christi Church was filled last Sunday afternoon as people from across the Evansville area gathered for Divine Mercy Sunday. Father Claude Burns reminded those in attendance that Pope John Paul II, now St. John Paul II, declared 15 years ago that the first Sunday after Easter would become Divine Mercy Sunday. During the celebration at Corpus Christi, participants prayed both the Chaplet of St. Michael and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. They also prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary, and had the opportunity for Confession. St. Ferdinand Parish in Ferdinand also had a Divine Mercy Sunday celebration.
