“Catholic Charities says goodbye to our intern, Brother Jason Muhlenkamp,” writes Sharon Burns, director of Catholic Charities and Hispanic Ministry.

“Brother Jason has been with us nine months, helping the Outreach team deliver the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, working on disaster relief programming, and seeing emergency assistance clients.  He will be professing his final vows with the Glenmary Missioners on May 23 in Cincinnati.

“The Office of Hispanic Ministry bids farewell to Adam Fierst who will be leaving us this month. He will graduate from Jasper High School, travel this summer and attend IUPUI in the fall. Adam contributed greatly during the transition year of the Office of Hispanic Ministry. He assisted clients with all sorts of needs, offered translation services for the diocesan communications office, and helped Father Gene Heerdink with the Spanish Mass in Jasper.”

“Please welcome Leigh Anne Costlow who begins work in the Tribunal as a part-time assistant and ecclesiastical notary,” writes Father Kenneth Walker, director of the Diocesan Tribunal.

Saying thanks

The Good Shepherd St. Vincent de Paul Society would like to thank the parishioners for their generous support of the society.

“The purpose of the society is to grow spiritually and offer person-to-person service to the needy and suffering,” according to the Evansville parish newsletter.

“During the first quarter of 2015, we were able to service 92 families within our parish by giving assistance with their rent, utilities, furniture, appliances, clothing and water bills which totaled $7,120.00 in assistance.

“Without the kind support of our parishioners, we would not be able to assist these families in need.

“Also, during the same period, the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry was able to help 6,785 people or 2,959 families.”
