School Administrators Meet

Catholic school administrators and diocesan directors gather for a photograph in New Harmony.

Administrators from Diocese of Evansville Catholic schools met July 21-22 in New Harmony, Ind. They heard a variety of presentations from the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Evansville Chancellor Tim McGuire, Father Tony Ernst (pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Haubstadt, Holy Cross Parish in Fort Branch and St. Bernard Parish in Snake Run), John Elcessor (executive director of the Indiana Nonpublic Schools Education Association) and directors of diocesan departments.

 

Two new assistant principals attended their first administrative meeting. Tyler Lemen has joined Holy Trinity Catholic School in Dubois County as assistant to Principal Sally Sternberg, and Andrew Wibbeler has accepted an appointment as assistant to Principal Karie Cranie at Washington Catholic, where they will serve students in grade Pre-K through 12.

 

Reitz Memorial High School President Brother Lawrence Murphy also has announced that Charles Roberts has returned to his alma mater as director of athletics. He succeeds Bruce Dockery, who retired from teaching and administration. Dockery will continue to coach the Memorial girls basketball team.

 

Following are thumbnail bios for Lemen, Roberts and Wibbeler.

 

Tyler Lemen

Lemen is a native of North Spencer County and a graduate of Heritage Hills High School. He comes to the new Catholic school serving all of Dubois County from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, where he served as choir director. 

 

Charles Roberts

Roberts is a 1996 graduate of Memorial.  He most recently served as Director of Athletics at South Dearborn High School in Aurora, Ind.  Prior to that he served as Assistant Athletic Director at Lafayette Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School in Lafayette, Ind.

 

Andrew Wibbeler

Wibbeler attended Southridge High School, and he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Oakland City University. He has served Washington Catholic for the past nine years as a math teacher, assistant athletic director and dean of students.
