Back to school at Mater Dei

“It has been an extremely busy summer at Mater Dei,” writes Timothy Dickel, president at Mater Dei High School in Evansville.

“Many improvements are being made as a result of the Full of Grace: Excellence for Tomorrow Capital Campaign. Over $5 million has been raised to support the many projects included in the campaign.

“Artificial turf field -- Football field work began in May, and we were excited to begin using the new field on July 13 for football camp.

“Entrance Enhancement - Work continues on the entrance project. In the spring of 2014, we razed the old convent and properties along Harmony Way. The main drive is currently closed so we can add another turn lane exiting campus. This improvement will improve traffic flow and safety of our families.

“Kitchen Project - The kitchen is being completely renovated this summer and will include new utilities, equipment and flooring.

“Tennis Complex - Initial preparations are occurring for the tennis complex including storm sewers and other utility work. We anticipate construction on the actual courts to begin this fall, so they can be used for the spring 2016 tennis season.”
