The first annual diocesan Catholic schools open house was held on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015.  All 26 Catholic schools invited prospective families to come and see the good news in Catholic education.  Hundreds of families attended and toured the facilities with student ambassadors, talked with pastors, school administrators, teachers, staff and school council members, and received informational packets on the schools they visited and their application process.

Thank you to the school administrators who, with the help of their enrollment/marketing committees, planned and implemented the open house.  Thank you to the school pastors and associate pastors who were on the front lines welcoming families and inviting them to consider a faith-based education for their children.  Lastly, thank you to the diocesan committee who coordinated the marketing for the event and assisted schools in their implementation.  The open house committee included Melba Wilderman, principal of St. Joseph School, Vanderburgh County; Kristen Girten, principal of Annunciation School at Christ the King; Martha Craig, principal of Corpus Christi School; Teresa Joyce, enrollment manager for Washington Catholic Schools; Kelley Coppens, enrollment manager for Reitz Memorial High School; Lou Ann Gilbert, enrollment manager for Mater Dei Catholic High School; Dr. Tad Dickel, president of Mater Dei Catholic High School; and Jeremy Korba, president of Regent Promotions.

Look for individual schools to continue hosting events for prospective families in the first quarter of 2016.  For more information on Catholic schools contact us at (812) 424-5536 or visit www.evdio.org.
