St. Peter Parish, Linton, noodle dinner chairperson Evelyn Erdly said volunteers began gathering three days a week in early August to make noodles for the dinner, and for contributions to other local organizations.

Erdly said they used 338 dozen eggs to make 275 gallon bags of dry noodles for the dinner. The parish donated 24 gallon bags of noodles to Linton’s First Christian Church for its annual Thanksgiving dinner for the area’s needy, and they donated 18 gallon bags of noodles for the annual Toys for Tots event.

The volunteers also made enough noodles to have 600 12.5 oz.  bags of dry noodles for sale at the dinner. “Our ladies really turned out, and some of the men joined them,” Erdly said of the noodle-making efforts. “We had 15-17 women and some men every week, and our parishioners also made and donated desserts for the dinner.” Erdly also thanked the men of the parish’s Father Ryan Council #6679 of the Knight of Columbus. “They are a tremendous help to us every year during the dinner,” she said.
