Seminarians installed as lectors at St. Meinrad

Diocese of Evansville seminarians Luke Hassler and Andrew Thomas are among 17 priesthood students from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology who received the ministry of lector on Feb. 18 in the Seminary’s St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel. Archbishop Joseph Tobin of Indianapolis installed the lectors. The ministry of lector is conferred upon those who prepare and proclaim readings from Scripture at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. A lector also may recite psalms between the readings and present the intentions for the general intercessions.

Father Jay Davidson, administrator of All Saints Parish in Evansville, was ordained to the priesthood on March 14, 1064.

Father Donald Dilger, The Message columnist and teach of Scripture in the Diocese of Evansville, was ordained to the priesthood on March 15, 1959.

Schoenstein Twins sign with USI

Mater Dei High School Seniors Abby and Holly Schoenstein committed to play college soccer at the University of Southern Indiana on Feb. 26. Theey were starters on the 2014 and 2015 IHSAA state runner up Wildcat lady soccer team. Holly was first-team all SIAC in 2014 and 2015, and Abby was honorable mention.
