St. Benedict Cathedral parishioner Beth Folz scrapes the top of the marble altar before it is steam-cleaned on March 12 during the 2016 Saint Meinrad Day of Service in Evansville. Saint Meinrad alumni coordinated similar events in locations across the country. The Evansville volunteers focused their efforts on St. Benedict Cathedral. In addition to steam-cleaning the marble in the sanctuary, they cleaned all of the woodwork with oil soap; painted the sacristy; and completed multiple small landscaping projects on the grounds. Saint Meinrad Director of Planned Giving Darren Sroufe, an alumnus coordinated the Evansville Day of Service and led the group in Morning Prayer before they began their workday.
