Benedictine Father Godfrey Mullen, rector of St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville, told The Message that the goal of the April 2-3 Homecoming celebration was “to welcome anyone back to St. Ben’s who has ever had a connection to the parish, and to welcome those who have never been here … and show them the good things going on here.” The back of the sanctuary served as the “St. Benedict Cathedral Gallery” for an art show featuring work by parish artists Pauline Amodio, Ryan Belmonte, Bill Brown, Heather Gibson, Matt Gibson, Marie Hackert, Pat Levell, Jeanne McGinnis, Jan Unfried, Grace Winiger, and St. Benedict Cathedral School students. A Homecoming Concert on the evening of April 3 featured performances by the Monks of Saint Meinrad, StillPoint (the Benedictine Sisters of Ferdinand), the St. Benedict Cathedral Choir, parishioner and harpist Cyndi Bickel, parishioners and Reitz Memorial High School students Sydney Kull and Katie Schaefer, and guitarist Steve Nilssen and parishioner Janel Mulherin.
