Father Alex Zenthoefer, pastor of Evansville’s Annunciation of the Lord Parish, announced April 28 that parishioner Matt Moore will become principal of the parish school’s Christ the King Campus effective with the 2016-2017 school year.

Moore, an Evansville native, has been the principal of St. Bernard School in Rockport for the past three years. He replaces Kristen Girten, who becomes principal at Evansville’s Good Shepherd School at the start of next school year. She replaces the retiring Judy VanHoosier.

“We are very excited that Matt will be joining our team at Annunciation Parish as Principal at Christ the King Campus,” Father Zenthoefer said. “He already has a strong connection with many of our families since he is a member of our parish.”

“I have been very blessed to have worked with Matt for the two of his three years here at St Bernard,” said Father Ron Kreilein, pastor of St. Bernard Parish.  “We will definitely miss him here, but want to wish him the best of luck as he moves closer to his family and parishioners at Christ the King.”

Moore graduated with honors from Ball State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education. He earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Ball State in 2011.

“Matt brings a great deal of enthusiasm and drive for excellence in education,” Father Zenthoefer said. “He will be a great gift to our students, our faculty and our families.”
