Father Ron Kreilein, pastor of St. Bernard Parish in Rockport, announced June 16 that Beth Strodel will become principal of St. Bernard School effective with the 2016-17 school year. She replaces Matt Moore, who has accepted a position at his home parish, Annunciation in Evansville, as principal of the Christ the King Campus.

“We welcome Beth Strodel as our new principal at St. Bernard,” Father Kreilein said. “We are very excited to have Beth on our team and look forward working with her very soon.”

Strodel is a Purdue University graduate. She earned a bachelor’s degree in French and English Education, and a master’s degree in French Literature. She earned an endorsement in Educational Leadership from Western Governor’s University in 2014.

She has been a faculty member at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville since August 1993. She taught English, French and literature, and she served as co-chair of the School Improvement Team.

“I feel blessed have this opportunity to join the St. Bernard community,” Strodel said. “I am looking forward to working with the faculty and families at St. Bernard Catholic School to continue our mission, ‘to educate the whole child to serve the world as a responsible Christian.’"
