Three scholarships were established in honor of Mary F. Thomas, the fourth principal of Good Shepherd School. Recipients receive a certificate and a monetary award, and their names will be added to the plaques in the school foyer.

The Achievement award was presented to Good Shepherd School alumna and Reitz Memorial High School graduate Samantha Puckett, daughter of Jason and Tonya Puckett.

The Humanitarian award (determined by teachers’ ranking of politeness, manners, religious participation, general attitude, and service) was presented to Elizabeth Hart, daughter of Clay and Amy Hart.

The Scholastic award, presented to the Eighth grader with the highest grade average, was awarded to Annah Hopkins, daughter of Eric and Amanda Hopkins.

Two students were awarded with Serra Club awards. Claire Ashley, daughter of Chad and Lucy Ashley, and Caylin Wigger, daughter of Chuck and Mykeal Wigger, are the 2016 Serra Club honorees. This award recognizes eighth grade students that lead exemplary Christian lives, show signs of Catholic leadership among their peers, and act as an inspiration to adult leaders.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients.
