Carlos Mayser has joined the Diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry as Hispanic Outreach Specialist. He replaces Cesar Berrios, who has joined the staff at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.

Mayser is a native of Bolivia who has lived in the U.S. since 2009. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and International Studies from USI, where he also enjoyed a successful career as a member of the men’s soccer team.

Mayser will be responsible for programming and services in the areas of education, community navigation, translation and general assistance for the Latino populations of Dubois County, and the cities of Evansville and Washington.

"We are excited to have a person with the creative energy and passion for serving the Latino people that Carlos exhibits,” said Sharon Burns, Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities and the Office of Hispanic Ministry.  “I am most certain that the Latino residents of southwestern Indiana will benefit from his Christ-centered care."
