Boonville Knights raising funds with Tootsie Rolls

Knights of Columbus Council 10257 in Boonville will be handing out Tootsie Rolls from Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 outside Boonville-area stores (IGA, Posey’s and Walmart). The Knights will be accepting donations as part of the annual campaign for people with disabilities to raise money for nonprofit organizations.  While the bulk of the money raised will go to Special Olympics in Indiana and Warrick County, Council 10257 will distribute a portion of the proceeds to appropriate disability programs in the local community – including Southern Indiana Resource Services and the council’s Special Needs Fishing Tournament. The Knights of Columbus and Tootsie Rolls together initiated this annual fundraiser across the country in 1970, and the Tootsie Roll wrappers feature the K of C logo and information about the organization.
