The Diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry has appointed Mater Dei High School and University of Evansville graduate Jenny Koch as Director of the UE Newman Center. Koch began her duties in late August.

Koch comes to the Newman Center from Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, where she taught and coached for the past nine years. She also served as the Chair of the Social Studies Department. She majored in History with a minor in Religion at UE, graduating in 2003. She earned a Master’s Degree from St. Meinrad School of Theology earlier this year.

Jenny’s background in education and theology will allow her to be a strong resource to the student body as well as faculty and staff,” said Diocesan Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry Steve Dabrowski.

As a student of History, I have always been fascinated by blessed John Henry Newman and his life stories of the search for Truth,” Koch said. “I consider this opportunity to work at the University of Evansville a blessing to my career as a teacher and my vocation as a young mother. Blessed John Henry Newman had an enormous impact on the Catholic faith as a convert. I look forward to using his example and modeling his love for the Catholic Church in working with the students.”

Koch and her husband Mark have three children – Wyatt (4), Eli (2) and Evelyn (3 months).
