Mater Dei’s Lefler presents at IBEA Conference

Mater Dei High School Business Department Chair Donna Lefler presented two sessions during the Indiana Business Education Association’s 48th Annual Professional Development Conference, which was held Nov. 18-19 in Indianapolis.

Her presentation “Do You Want to Know Who Your Creative Marketing Leaders Are?” focused on helping students to see their potential in business management and entrepreneurial endeavors. Lefler shared tips for teachers to enable their students to create a money-making marketing company within the walls of the classroom.

Her other presentation, “Shut the FRONT Door! Turn Off the Light,” provided other Indiana business teachers with tools to enable their students to have fun while learning real-life skills. Through a variety of virtual experiences, students can learn to create a budget, complete their taxes, and balance a checkbook while experiencing a variety of "when life gives you lemons" scenarios such as car trouble, loss of a job, or the surprise arrival of twins!
