The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has named Reitz Memorial High School Head Coach Bill Vieth 2016 State of Indiana Coach of the Year.

Vieth led the 2016 Tigers to a 19-4-1 overall record. The team won the Class 2A section, regional, semi-state and state championships. Reitz Memorial made its eighth appearance in the state finals, which ties the school for No. 2 all-time in championship-game appearances.

Vieth is just the third coach in Indiana history with three or more state championships (2007, 2008 and 2016). He joins North Central High School’s Jerry Little and Fort Wayne Canterbury’s Greg Mauch, who have five each.  In 31 years as Reitz Memorial head coach, Vieth has posted a 533-101-51 record.
