Math Bowl

Teams of fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students from the diocese of Evansville competed in the 2017 Indiana M.A.T.H. Bowl on Feb. 23. The competition consisted of four rounds with at least three different team members competing in each round.  Each round had eight multiple-choice questions, which were read aloud to the students and projected on the screen simultaneously.  Students had from 30-60 seconds to answer each question.

In area competition, Saint Wendel School in St. Wendel and Holy Trinity School in Jasper placed first in the green class division. Resurrection School of Evansville earned second place, followed by Annunciation at Christ the King School with third place.  St. John the Baptist School in Newburgh placed first in the yellow class division (teams consisting of only fourth graders). When state placings were reported, both St. Wendel (sixth place) and Holy Trinity School (eighth place) placed in the State Top 10.  Congratulations to all participants for their hard work!
