Special Needs Fishing Tournament Is May 20

By

Knights of Columbus St. Clement Council 10257 of Newburgh has held a fishing tournament for the special-needs community of Warrick and surrounding counties for more than 17 years.

Participants range in age from 6 to 70 … and up. They come with families, or with chaperones of group homes. They all participate for the same reason; they know they’ll have a good time fishing at Lake Last Cast near Degonia Springs, Ind.

Council 10257 has announced that the 2017 event is set for May 20. There is no entry fee for the tournament. Food, attendance prizes, fishing gear and beverages will be provided for participants and their escorts.  The Knights will have Registered Nurses on site for the day in additional to emergency-vehicle support nearby.

Check=in will begin at 8 a.m. CDT, and fishing will begin at 8:30 a.m. CDT. The awards luncheon will begin on-site at 11 a.m. CDT, with the goal of having everything wrapped up by Noon CDT.

Council 10257 members ask that those planning to attend and participate to download and complete an application form, which is available online. Those who need a printed form mailed to them should contact Knight Dennis McVey at 812-217-8065.

This will give the Knights an accurate head count of participants and support personnel who are planning to attend. Once completed, please mail the form to the address at the bottom of this story.

More information on the tournament and the entry form are available at http://kofcfishing.homestead.com. Once completed, mail the form to:
