Washington Catholic Elementary Names Amy Cline As Principal

Father Paul Ferguson, pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Washington, has announced that Amy Cline is the new Principal at Washington Catholic Elementary School, effective July 1. Cline has served Washington Community Schools since 1998.

Cline earned an Associate Degree in elementary education from Vincennes University in 1996, and a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education from the University of Southern Indiana in 1997. She earned her kindergarten endorsement in 1999 from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, and she earned a Master’s Degree in education in 2003.

Cline joined Washington Community Schools in 1998, serving as a substitute and remediation teacher. Beginning in 2000, she taught fifth-grade students for one year, sixth-grade students for one year and spent 15 years teaching in a general-education second-grade classroom.

Cline and her family are active members of Our Lady of Hope Parish.  Her two children attend Washington Catholic Schools.

“Amy Cline will be a great asset to our Elementary School,” Father Ferguson said. “Amy has been teaching in the public schools and brings many years of experience to her position as principal here at Washington Catholic Elementary School. She is very familiar with Catholic schools and has sent her children to Washington Catholic.  We are very excited that Amy will be a part of our school family.”
