Through July 11, members of 22 parishes of the Diocese of Evansville have pledged amounts to the “Stewards of God’s Grace” combined campaign that exceed their overall goals by more than $4 million. Most significant in that news is the fact that millions of extra dollars will go to parishes for important projects.

A full report on the results of the first two waves of the combined parish-diocesan campaign appears in a table on page 2.

“Before Pope Francis named him to serve as the seventh Archbishop of Indianapolis, Archbishop-elect Thompson was very pleased with the results of the initial waves of the campaign,” said Tim McGuire, Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer of the diocese. “I know that he is very happy with the results to date.

“It is important to remember that this is the first campaign of its type in the 70-plus-year history of the Diocese of Evansville,” McGuire added. “The response by members of our Catholic community reflects their faith and commitment to their parish communities and the diocese.”

In the fall, 11 more parishes will begin their work on “Stewards of God’s Grace” as part of the third wave. They include Annunciation in Evansville, Holy Name in Bloomfield, Holy Rosary in Evansville, Our Lady of Hope in Washington, St. Bernard in Rockport, St. Boniface in Evansville, St. Clement in Boonville, St. John in Loogootee, St. Martin in Chrisney, St. Peter in Linton and St. Peter in Montgomery.
