Deacon David Seibert, Parish Life Coordinator of St. Boniface Parish in Evansville, has announced the selection of Danielle Carter as the new principal of Westside Catholic School, effective immediately. She replaces Tracey Unfried, who served as principal of Westside Catholic for the past six years and has joined the staff at Holy Rosary School in Evansville.

A native of Petersburg in Pike County, Carter has taught and assisted the principal at Rivet Middle-High School in Vincennes for the past seven years.

“Mrs. Carter’s enthusiasm and experience will provide the direction needed for Westside Catholic,” Deacon Seibert said. “With her guidance, the school will continue to develop and implement plans to better serve our Catholic community. I believe that as our parish and school communities have a chance to meet her, they will see why the Selection Committee felt she was a good fit. Her enthusiasm and strong work ethic will quickly endear her to the community.”

“I am very excited to be involved with St. Boniface Parish and Westside Catholic School,” Carter said.  “I am eager to start working with the students, families, faculty and staff at our school.”

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Mild Interventions from Vincennes University in 2009, and she earned a Master’s Degree in Building level Administration and Supervision from Indiana State University in 2016.

She taught English/Language Arts in grades 6-8 at Rivet.

Carter and her husband J.R. have two sons – Nate, 10, and Kody, 7. They are members of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Vincennes.
