Linda Mitchell of Ireland is celebrating 40 years of service with Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper.  She currently serves as the Social Service Designee and Facility Qualified Mental Retardation Professional.

Mitchell said her introduction to the facility began when she and her young children baked and delivered Christmas cookies to the residents of the facility, then known as The Providence Home. During her tenure, she has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and assisted Developmentally Disabled residents in learning new skills.

When asked, Mitchell said it “doesn’t seem like 40 years. Each day, I look forward to coming to work because I enjoy being with each of my residents.”  Cathedral Health Care Center Administrator Glenn Wilson said, “Linda is a remarkable person. Her concern for our residents and her willingness to help her Team Members makes her an outstanding role model for others.”

Mitchell and her family are members of St. Mary Parish in Ireland.

Located in Jasper, Cathedral Health Care Center is a skilled nursing facility. Its services includes short term Rehabilitation to Home, Long Term Care, Respite Care and Hospice Services. Cathedral accepts residents of both genders and of all religious beliefs.
