Jeanne Campbell has received the 2013 Distinguished Graduate award from Precious Blood School in Jasper.

In making the presentation, Michelle Brandle, principal, said, “It is a great tradition at Precious Blood School to honor a Distinguished Graduate during Catholic Schools Week (weather permitting). For the past 17 years, Precious Blood has honored a special person who has used the lessons they learned while attending our school to make a difference in the world.

“These distinguished men and women have had many different accomplishments. Some have become priests, some are valued leaders of our community, and some have been members of our own Precious Blood Staff. Each of these individuals have set an example for every student here today in how to continue living by the values you have learned here at our school long after you leave. It is my hope that you will be inspired by these people to make your own difference in the world.”

She said of Campbell, “A schoolmate described her as a person that students looked up to at Precious Blood. She continues today to set an example of how to serve and live her Catholic Faith by encouraging students and alumni to achieve and represent Precious Blood well. Jeanne has been a long supporter of Catholic Education.

“For many years Jeanne has been a supporter of the arts in Dubois County and has encouraged others to share their gifts and skills to inspire others. An accomplished artist herself, Jeanne has shared her gifts with our parish and school by filling in playing the piano during Mass. She shares her beautiful voice when she serves as a cantor. She also serves on several boards and is eager to help advise when needed.

“Her most important role is that of daughter, wife and mother.  She and her husband, Dr. Mark Campbell have three children, Emilie, Lisa and Chris. She is also joined by her parents today,  Stan and Mary Jane Krempp.”

Brandle noted that “throughout her life, Jeanne has served her family, her parish and her community. Her accomplishments are many. Distinguished in character, she is a model for us all to serve as Jesus did. Jeanne continues to bring honor to Precious Blood School, and today we give thanks for all of her service.”
