DIANE FEHRENBACHER

The Teens Encounter Christ Movement will present Evansville resident Diane Fehrenbacher with the 2018 Heritage Award at its annual international gathering this summer in Baton Rouge, La. The Heritage Award is the highest honor given by the TEC Conference, the organizing body of the international TEC Movement. The award recognizes those who have an exemplary commitment to the TEC Movement on the local, regional, and national level.

Fehrenbacher has served the local Southwestern Indiana TEC community and the national TEC Conference with her gifts. She participated on the national Leadership Council as Indiana State Representative, and helped coordinate between the local and national boards when planning the annual TEC Convention hosted in Evansville. Diane’s music ministry was beloved by the TEC Conference, particularly when she shared her music during workshops and other events. Her friendship with and care for Dorothy Gereke, co-founder of TEC, was a comfort and blessing for Dorothy in her later years. Diane’s many years of service to the TEC Movement in all manners of time and talent shows her dedication to the mission.

The award will be presented July 14 during the three-day (July 13-15) gathering called TEC Encounter in Baton Rouge. Nationally renowned presenter Mike Patin will serve as the keynote speaker, focusing on the event’s theme, “Come to the Table.” Anyone who is 18 or older and who is involved in TEC, past or present, is invited to attend for three days of fellowship, resources, prayer, and networking. Online registration and other details for Encounter 2018 can be found at www.tecconference.org.

TEC (Teens, Together, To Encounter Christ), a Catholic movement of spirituality for older adolescents and young adults, was founded in Battle Creek, Mich. in 1965. Focusing on the Paschal Mystery, TEC helps thousands of young people each year deepen their relationship with Christ and discern their vocation within the larger Church. The TEC Movement is affiliated with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry; National Catholic Young Adult Ministry Association; and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops through its Episcopal Moderator, Archbishop Gregory Aymon of, New Orleans, La.
