St. Joseph Parish Names Nathan Winstead School Principal

Father Gene Schroeder, pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Vanderburgh County, has announced that the parish has hired Nathan Winstead of Haubstadt as the new principal of St. Joseph School. Winstead is a graduate of the University of Evansville, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in music education, and is completing work at the University of Southern Indiana on a graduate degree in Education School Administration and Leadership.

“We think Nathan will be able to bring new life and energy to our school and continue the long tradition of providing quality education for the students in our parish,” Father Schroeder said in announcing Winstead’s appointment. 

“I want to thank the St. Joseph Parish community for allowing me the opportunity to serve in the role of principal,” Winstead said. “St. Joseph Parish and School have a long-standing tradition of strong values in faith, family, and academics. I look forward to meeting each of you and beginning this journey for the continued success of St. Joseph Parish and School.”

For the past five years, Winstead has taught music at three Gibson County Catholic schools – St. Joseph in Princeton, Holy Cross in Fort Branch and Sts. Peter and Paul in Haubstadt.

Winstead grew up in Gibson County. He lives in Haubstadt with his wife Kaycie and their twin daughters, Lyla and Zoey.
