Thirty-nine rising eighth-grade students from parochial and public schools in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson and Posey Counties pose for a photo during the opening session at St. Vincent’s HCAMPS (HealthCare Academy for Middle School Pupil’s Success) in Evansville.  The weeklong program for middle school students was held at St. Vincent Evansville campus from June 11-15. During the opening session, program director Margaret Moutseous announced that St. Vincent was awarded a grant from Toyota Manufacturing, which covered all student fees for the camp and will continue for the next three years. Highlights from this year’s camp included treating “patients” in a simulation lab, touring health science facilities at Ivy Tech Community College, the University of Evansville, and the University of Southern Indiana and performing hands-on activities, such as dissecting a cow heart.
