Anniversaries of ordination

Father Joseph Erbacher, pastor at St. John Church, Loogootee, St. Martin Church, Whitfield, St. Mary Church, Shoals, and St. Joseph Church, Bramble, was ordained to the priesthood March 25, 1972.

Father James Sauer, administrator at St. Matthew Church, Mount Vernon, and Holy Angels, New Harmony, was ordained to the priesthood March 25, 1977.

Math-a-thon

Students in the third and fourth grades at St. Benedict Cathedral School in Evansville have raised over $5,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital through their math-a-thon.

“Our Resurrection Math Bowl Team placed third in their competition against 11 other diocesan teams,” writes Theresa Berendes, principal of the Evansville school.

“They placed 27th in the state out of 486 teams. Team members include Kristen Schneider, Morgan Swallows, Claire Adler, Kendyl Weinzapfel, Grace Wagner, Madeline Swallows, Payton Pokorney, Lance Berendes, Nicholas Harpenau, Conner Jarrell, Devon Dale, Jonah Kunkler and Logan Postletheweight.
