Father Leo Kiesel Celebrates Golden Jubilee

Last Sunday, parishioners from the four Martin County parishes gathered to celebrate Father Leo Kiesel’s golden jubilee of ordination to the priesthood. In the photo Father Kiesel is joined by celebration committee members, front row, Sue Sims, Judy Ader, second row, Nancy Summers, Martha Love, Betty Huelsman and Donna VanWinkle. The parishes include St. Joseph, Bramble, St. John, Loogootee, St. Mary, Shoals, and St. Martin, Whitfield. The celebration was held at St. John’s. On March 30, 1963, six young men were ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Evansville: Father Kenneth Graehler, Father Kiesel, Msgr. Kenneth Knapp, Father Bernard Lutz, Father Earl Rohleder and Msgr. Charles Koch, who died in 2011.
