The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Lawrence A. Vieck Assembly, in conjunction with Father Gordon Mann and Father James Koressel and their parishioners recently celebrated the Eucharist for and in memory of the deceased veterans of “our communities and our country,” according to Jerry Walker.

“This was our thirty-eighth year of commemoration which was initiated by Father Robert Deig and Father Raymond Schroering in 1975 at the request of the Assembly.

“It was the community Mass for the parishes of St. Mary and St. Simon. This year, it was a Mass for Washington Deanery parishes of Our Lady of Hope in Washington, St. Peter in Montgomery, and All Saints in Cannelburg. As in the past, there was a large attendance of members from the three parishes.”

Following the Mass, breakfast was served by the members of the Washington Council, Third Degree Knights of Columbus for the parishioners in the K of C dining room.

“The assembly is always grateful for the preparation at St. John Cemetery by Ed Lee Mortuary, Andy Arvin and Ron Murphy.”
