A request for prayers
“In the recent weeks, I’ve become so aware of many people associated with St. Ben’s that are requesting special prayers,” writes Benedictine Sister Karlene Sensmeier, principal at St. Benedict Cathedral School in Evansville.
“I’m asking that each family make special mention of prayers for those in need that are associated with St. Ben’s in any way. Continue to pray for full recovery for Father Gregory [Chamberlin, pastor emeritus] and for guidance and inspiration for Father Godfrey [Mullen, pastor].
“You can also mention the school staff by name as we have an awesome responsibility each and every day.”

Increased assistance
The Jasper Rotary Club is helping the Guadalupe Center to gear up for the need for increased immigration assistance. The club received a $1,000 matching grant from the district to be used for immigration training for the Guadalupe Center staff and for computers and software to be used in the immigration and literacy programs.
The Guadalupe Center is BIA (Bureau of Immigration Appeals) recognized to provide immigration services. Benedictine Sister Joan Scheller is accredited to provide services.
New director of music ministry
Benedictine Sister Catherine Duenne has been named the director of music ministry at Sacred Heart Parish in Schnellville and St. Anthony Parish in St. Anthony. She also serves at St. Ferdinand Parish in Ferdinand.
Office manager
Devin Carpenter is the new corporate office manager for our community at St. Joseph Parish in Dale.
Mater Dei-ville officers
Mater Dei senior Allison Montgomery is serving as this year’s mayor of Mater Dei-ville, the student government at the Evansville high school.
Seniors Emily Blankenberger and Jered Schenk are serving as clerk and judge.
