Students from the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana recently visited the House of Bread and Peace, a homeless shelter for single mothers and their children.  The students cooked a lunch complete with green beans, salad, pork, mac n' cheese, and rice krispy treats.  Other students spent time coloring with some children at the home and writing holiday cards to our troops.  Some students also did some house cleaning, set up a printer and moved some furniture.

While touring the home, the students were all hit hard with the idea of having to fit all of their belongings into one room – and the thought that some people may not have many belongings at all to put into their own room.   Helping out at the home was a very humbling experience for the group. All of the students enjoyed their time there and felt honored to help such an important cause.   It truly was an eye-opening experience.
