 Love, peace and joy

Students in the religious education program at St. John Parish in Loogootee and St. Martin Parish in Whitfield started the new year with a promise to bring love, peace and joy to the world.

They decorated a tree with a variety of colored ornaments. Red represented love, silver represented peace, and green was joy.

“Our 2014 tree stands on the upper level of St. John Center and is a constant reminder of how we can make a real difference in our homes, schools, communities and world,” said Shirley Jeffers.

"Students also added snowflakes to the tree. Each snowflake has a name on it and students chose one. They are now asked to pray for that person and make an effort to bring more  love, joy, and peace into their lives.”
