Amazing!

“I wish to thank everyone who participated in February’s Focus on Food,” writes Amanda Drew in the bulletin at St. Joseph Parish in Jasper.

She’s the manager of the Community Food Bank in Jasper.

“The results were nothing short of amazing. Nearly 500 bags of food were collected, along with several thousand dollars in monetary donations to benefit the Community Food Bank."

Two students at Mater Dei High School in Evansville have had their work chosen for publication in Vincennes University's Fall 2013 creative writing contest.

Junior Megan Farny’s poem "Stripes," and senior Bailey Schnur’s short story "Winding Roads," will appear in the anthology The Best of Autumn Voices 2013‐2014.

 

Poster contest

A poster by St. Benedict Cathedral student Cole Foster has been selected as the winning entry in the sixth through eighth grade category.  Cole’s poster will be reproduced by Lamar Outdoor Advertising on a billboard near St. Ben’s.

The War on Hunger at Good Shepherd School in Evansville was a “tremendous success due to the generosity of students and parents,” reports Judy VanHoosier, principal.
