Sharon Burns Becomes Director Of Hispanic Ministry

Bishop Charles C. Thompson has named Sharon A. Burns Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Evansville, effective March 31, 2014. She will continue her responsibilities with Catholic Charities, and will serve as Director of Catholic Charities/Hispanic Ministry.

“This is a natural extension of the good work our Hispanic ministry office has provided,” Burns said, “and I am grateful to Bishop Thompson for this opportunity to expand those efforts. Our initial focus will be on refining a long-term plan to provide necessary ministry and services across the diocese.”

“We look forward to Sharon’s input as she refines and implements strategic direction for our Hispanic ministry,” said Diocesan Chief Operating Office Tim McGuire. “We have been blessed with Hispanic ministry for several years, and this move is intended to strengthen and expand its efforts across our 12 counties.”
