Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger, bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Evansville, was installed as bishop April 11, 1989.

Father Alex Zenthoefer, diocesan director of Vocations, chaplain at Memorial High School, Evansville, and pastor at Christ the King Parish and Holy Spirit Parish, all in Evansville, celebrates his birthday April 10.

Father Ryan Hilderbrand, administrator at St. Mary Parish in Huntingburg, celebrates his birthday April 13.

Father Pascal E. Nduka, associate pastor at Precious Blood Parish in Jasper and St. Mary Parish in Ireland, celebrates his birthday April 14.

 

Huge success!

St. Matthew Benefit Auction was a huge success!, reports  Sherri Rapp, auction committee member.

“Thank you so much for your support through, attendance, donations, and giving of time and talents. It was a beautiful night. We reached our “Fund-An-Item” goal of $25,000 needed to begin remodeling the school bathrooms.

“I do not have final numbers yet, but our grand total is looking pretty great – and that is thanks to our generous and supportive school families, parish families and community.”

 

Finance Council

Father Kenneth Walker announces that he has selected a Finance Council “as we prepare to bring the [four Martin County] parishes together as one July 1, 2014.”

He explains that “it is my intent that this group will continue after our new parish is formed to provide me with the necessary advice and counsel.”

Members include Jennifer Lannan, Mike Matheis, Lynn Hawkins, John Vaupel, Mark Trout, Bob Toy and Richard Burch.

Money for St. Jude’s

Third and fourth graders at St. Benedict Cathedral School in Evansville have raised over $5,400 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Over the past 16 years third and fourth grade students at St. Benedict’s have collected over $70,000 for the children at St. Jude.
