Youth Of The Year

 Make A Difference Grants Program Manager Jessica Fehrenbacher presents Madalyn Schadler, a student at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, with the Youth of the Year award at the Youth Resources Hall of Fame celebration.

 She was nominated for the award by the Girl Scouts of Raintree Council.

 While working toward her Girl Scout Gold Award, she learned that children in an orphanage in Kursini, Tanzania were wearing clothing from America and Europe, so she began making them clothing.

 She was later given the opportunity to travel to Tanzania to deliver her handmade skirts, shorts and shirts. While there, she taught basic hand-sewing to 30 children.
