Counting Your Blessings

Members of the Youth Group at Corpus Christi Parish in Evansville recently had the opportunity to “count their blessings.”

Parishioner Craig Blessinger, who is with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, led a half day tour around Evansville showing the parish youth “troubled areas of the city, places where our homeless sleep, and various organizations that help Evansville’s poor and hurting citizens,” said Cecilia Reising.

“They ended at the Vanderburgh County Jail where they saw firsthand how prisoners are checked in, given uniforms, and handled. They discussed with the staff issues related to law enforcement and taking care of the inmates.

“Their eyes were opened to how much compassion and patience is needed when working with this group” and treating  them with dignity.

They learned to “count their blessings!”
