Diocesan Chancellor Retiring In December

Long-time diocesan chancellor Judy Neff will retire at the end of the year, according to Tim McGuire, diocesan chief operating officer.

“Judy Neff has informed Bishop (Charles C.) Thompson that she is retiring, effective Dec. 31, 2014,” McGuire told diocesan staff members in a May 16 email.

“I send this note with mixed emotions. On the one hand, I am very happy that she is going to be able to enjoy more time with her family and with non-work activities. On the other hand, after 23 years with the diocese and 19 of those as chancellor, it is difficult to imagine anyone else in her position.

“In the next few weeks, we will begin the process of filling the vacancy created by her retirement. Later this year, we will also plan a celebration in Judy's honor. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Judy as she moves to the next phase of her life.”
