Father Jason Gries had two celebrations of his tenth anniversary of ordination to the priesthood, according to Betty Plump, a parishioner at Holy Trinity Parish in Evansville.

Father Gries is pastor at Holy Trinity and at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Daylight.

St. John parishioners held a celebration for him on May 4, and on May 18, Holy Trinity parishioners help him celebrate.

“Although his actual anniversary isn't until June 5, Father Jason will be in Washington D.C., at that time to begin studies of canon law.  He will be returning at the end of July to resume his pastoral duties at both parishes.”

Plump said that “special guests” at the Holy Trinity celebration included his parents, Bernie and Darla Gries, his grandmother, Anna Mae Gries, and his sister, Jamie Beyer, and her children, Aubree, Alyssa, Adalyn and Adam.

“Because of the special occasion, Father Jason was privileged to use the Reitz chalice for Mass. To add to the celebration, he was honored to give a special blessing to his parents who were celebrating their fortieth wedding anniversary.”
