Father Brenner says ‘thanks’
In the Pastor’s Corner in the newsletter at St. Joseph Parish in Jasper, Father Ray Brenner writes, “First of all, I want to say THANK YOU for all the prayers offered for me with my heart episode.
“I am doing cardiac rehab. And I have renewed energy. Please continue to pray for me.”
He added, “I want to thank Father Traylor for stepping up to the plate with the extra load placed on him with my heart attack.”

New staff
Maria Gramelspacher will become the Health/PE teacher next year, according to Benedictine Sister Karlene Sensmeier, principal at St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville. “She comes from Franklin, Ind., where she taught at the local high school.
“Mrs. Wright has accepted a position in Huntingburg, which is in her home town.”

A note from Mount Vernon teacher
Stephanie Schaefer, a fifth grade teacher at St. Matthew School in Mount Vernon, writes in the parent newsletter “As many of you know, I am getting married this June. My fiancé and I bought a house on the east side of Evansville. With this purchase, came a lot of hard decisions. One of the decisions we made was for me to find a job closer to home. I was recently offered a second grade teaching position at my former grade school, St. Benedict School, which will allow me to be closer to my new family.
“This was not an easy decision for me to make because I absolutely love St. Matthew. You and your children have made my years at St. Matthew so wonderful. I am going to miss everything about St. Matthew, especially your amazing children.”
