Director of Catechesis Kathy Gallo, left, and Director of Worship Matt Miller, pose with outgoing members of the Diocesan RCIA Committee, who have been part of the group for several years and provided outstanding service to the diocese.

RCIA coordinators and catechists from around the Diocese gathered at The Catholic Center on June 28 to look more closely at the inquiry process.

Inquiry is that initial meeting and “getting to know” stage with those interested in the Catholic Church.  It is the very beginning of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults process.

The Diocesan RCIA committee members (Bonnie Wink, Dana Hoffman, Sr. Jolinda Naas, Mary Ann Miles, Lloyd Young, Lisa Foster, Sharon Burger, Matt Miller and Kathy Gallo) planned the morning to analyze different scenarios involving people seeking to know more about the Church, and to discuss specific ways to welcome the Inquirer(s).

Discussion, questioning, sharing experiences and a delicious breakfast renewed participants in the importance of this first stage and the transformative power of the RCIA experience.
