Father Gary Kaiser announced Oct. 21 that Sally Sternberg will serve as principal, and Michelle Brandle will serve as assistant principal, of Holy Trinity Catholic School, which will open in the fall of 2015 to serve all of Dubois County.

Father Kaiser, pastor of Precious Blood Parish in Jasper and St. Mary Parish in Ireland, serves as Bishop Charles C. Thompson’s delegate for school administration.

“Through the years I have seen these ladies work side by side,” Father Kaiser said. “I am confident that we are assembling a team that will serve our students, staff, parents and parishes well.  Today is a great day for Holy Trinity."

Sternberg is a native of New Palestine, Ind. She earned an undergraduate degree in secondary education from the University of Evansville. Mathematics was her primary focus and chemistry her supporting focus. While working on her undergraduate degree, she studied abroad at Harlaxton College in Grantham, United Kingdom.  She earned a master’s degree in teaching and her administrative licensure from Oakland City University.

Sternberg is in her fifth year as principal of Holy Family School in Jasper.  Under her leadership, Holy Family earned recognition in 2013 as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. She taught mathematics and served as Mathematics Department Chair at Southridge High School in Huntingburg before becoming principal of Holy Family. She also taught at Harrison High School and Bosse High School, all part of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation.

“Sally is in her fifth year of leading Catholic education in this area,” Father Kaiser said. “She brings to our countywide school system her experience in Catholic and public education.

“Sally is committed to Catholic education,” he added. Her dedication will serve Holy Trinity Catholic School System well. Sally is respected by principals in both public and Catholic education; that respect does not come easily but rather through hard work and effort. I look forward to working with her in this new role.”

Brandle is an Evansville native who earned an undergraduate degree in secondary education, with a focus on social studies, from the University of Southern Indiana. She earned a master’s degree in education and completed the principal licensure program at Indiana Wesleyan University.

She is in her third year as principal of Jasper’s Precious Blood School. She returned to Southwestern Indiana in 2012 after serving as principal of St. Gerard Catholic School in Lima, Ohio. She also has taught social studies and Religion at Holy Redeemer and Resurrection schools in Evansville.

“Michelle has led Catholic education at Precious Blood for two years,” Father Kaiser said, “and she is blessed with the ability to craft policy. Development, review and implementation of policies will be key elements as we unite the three schools to form our new countywide system.

“I am excited for Sally, Michelle and Holy Trinity,” he added.

Following completion of the 2014-15 school year, Precious Blood and Holy Family will come together with St. Mary Preschool to form the foundation of Holy Trinity, which will serve all of Dubois County.
