NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Indiana University Southeast head softball coach Joe Witten has announced the signing of Mater Dei senior Sydney Seger to attend IU Southeast and play softball for the Grenadiers.

"Sydney is a great student-athlete who is well-respected by her peers and teammates," Witten said. "She is a competitive player who will have a big impact for our team."

Seger is a three-year starter at third base for the Wildcats.  She was an academic all-city selection in 2013 and 2014. In 2013, she also was named first-team all-conference and all-area. Last season, she earned selection to the all-county first team and the all-state second team.

Seger has helped Mater Dei women’s softball win three straight Southern Indiana Athletic Conference titles.
