Beginning with this issue, The Message wants your selfies! Send them to us from schools, parishes, ministry groups; from meetings, events, and outreach activities.

Please include the names of everyone in your selfie, and please tell us where they are and what they’re doing. We hope to run at least one selfie in every issue, starting today with St. John the Baptist School Principal Elizabeth Flatt.

“I had a great time with some our students in our DEEP high-ability program,” she writes.  This group of students (Joey Klieman, left, Catherine Titizer, Emily Roe, and Bridget Janney) are fifth-grade students who are currently working in literature circles and are studying the novel “From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler” by E.L. Konigsburg.

Each student has a different job/task in the group including investigator, illustrator, vocabulary explorer, literary luminary, and discussion director.  These students are taught by Jenny Beckwith and Maria Janney, and think the lit circles are a great way to read and discuss the novels.

"Our high-ability program has truly enhanced the academic programming at SJB!”

Send your selfies any time to message@evdio.org. Put Selfie of the Week in the subject line.
