Bicknell Native Enters USI Athletic Hall Of Fame

The University of Southern Indiana Department inducted new members to its of Athletic Hall of Fame during homecoming week activities on Feb. 7. Casey Hughes Lamb, who grew up in St. Philip Neri Parish in Bicknell and now lives in Gibson County with her family, is among the 2015 inductees.

 

Hughes Lamb played for the Screaming Eagles from 1998 through 2002 and was a three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference performer, finishing her career ranked first in steals; fourth in points and field goals made; and ninth in rebounds and assists. She also helped the Eagles to a 2001 NCAA II Midwest Regional Championship and women's basketball second appearance in the NCAA II Elite Eight.

 

She is the daughter of Rod and Connie Hughes, and granddaughter of Bob and Hazel Steimel, of Bicknell. She and her husband Korey have three sons, and live in Fort Branch, where they are active in Holy Cross Parish. She is a teacher at Brumfield Elementary School in Princeton.
