Celebrating the 64 years of Holy Family School

Father John Boeglin, pastor at Holy Family Parish in Jasper, writes, “We had our first pre-school registration for Holy Trinity Catholic School for the upcoming year. We had a great response and I know that the school leadership is trying to accommodate, as best as possible, the requests of our school families.

“As our school campus receives a new name, we want to celebrate the 64 years of our school as Holy Family. I have recently counted all of our Holy Family graduates displayed in those wall albums in the school. Do you realize that about 2,350 students will have graduated from Holy Family School from 1952 to May 2015?

“The class sizes varied a lot through the years. The first graduating class (1952) had 23 students and last class (2015) will graduate with 18 students. During the 1960’s enrollment increased to an average of 35 to 45 in a class. During that time we had 2 huge classes. The class of 1966 graduated 73 students and the class of 1969 graduated 63 students.

“During the 1970’s the average graduating class sizes were between 53 and 73 students. The 1980’s graduating classes varied from 23 to 53. The 1990’s graduating classes varied from 20 to 33. The 2000’s classes were similar as the previous 10 years, with the exception of the class of 2006 with 46 graduates. The smallest graduating class was the class of 2013 with 13 graduates.

“We will celebrate the legacy of Holy Family School on April 18 , beginning with the 4 p.m. Mass that evening. We are still in the planning stages for this event.”
