Archbishop Kurtz Calls On U.S. Catholics

Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, Ky., president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, has invited parishes across America to conduct a second collection for Nepal earthquake relief efforts. Some parishes in the Diocese of Evansville may conduct second collections for Catholic Relief Services’ Nepal relief efforts on the weekend of May 9-10 or the weekend of May 23-24.

Readers of The Message also may donate directly to Catholic Relief Services:

Online: donate.crs.org/Nepal

By U.S. Mail: Mail checks to Catholic Relief Services, P.O. Box 17090, Baltimore, MD 21297-0303 (Please write “Nepal Earthquake” on the memo line).

By Phone: Call toll-free, (877) HelpCRS [(877) 435-7277] to donate using a credit card.

Readers also may send contributions to the diocese’s Catholic Charities office, which will issue receipts for tax purposes and provide all funds collected directly to CRS.
