Decorated rocks are ready to be placed throughout the community. People who find the rocks are encouraged to snap a picture and share it to the Facebook page with the tag #LoveRocks.

If you happen to be walking throughout Boonville, keep an eye out for the "loverocks" hidden by children from St. Clement’s Parish.  These brightly colored stones, painted with a picture, inspirational word, quote or Bible verse, were hidden with the intent to bring love and happiness to the person who finds it.

Inspired by Saint Mother Teresa and #JasperRocks on Facebook, St. Clement Parish catechists came across the idea when searching for a fun All Saints Day activity.  The first round of #LoveRocks was hidden in November with the intent that those who find them post pictures to the social media page to share with others, then hide them again.

Katie Vollmer, Director of Religious Education at St. Clement Parish, hopes that the seeds of servitude being planted in small children will continue to develop and flourish throughout their lives. “The kids were reminded that Saint Mother Teresa said, ‘Not everyone can do great things, but everyone can do small things with great love.’ Sometimes children feel as though they don’t make a difference or their kindness doesn’t matter.”

The children of St. Clement Parish, however, are learning that by sharing their love with friends, family and even strangers their kindness does matter.  Vollmer recalled,“One 5-year-old said, ‘Maybe if we hide it at Father Will’s house, it will make him happy and make him smile!’ (They) are excited about sharing love within our community.”
